While it’s true that fruit, vegetables, seeds and nuts help balance and oxygenate the bodily systems and should take up the majority of space on your plate. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits all diet model. We are all uniquely different. I have seen many people consuming vegan alone who ended up getting very sickly over time from a lack of balance in nutrition.

The source of where you get what you eat is also key to eating and living a healthy lifestyle. Meat can be full of antibiotics and hormones and there’s a lot of fraud in the fish industry. Often what you are asking for, isn’t what you are getting when you are out to eat. So what can we do to protect ourselves? Use caution and purchase: wild game and fish, hormone and antibiotic free beef, and organic food when you are out shopping. Stay away from boxes and cans that are full of chemicals, preservatives and non-food fillers. Don’t be afraid to question sources of food when you are at a restaurant, or ask whether or not something is wild or factory farmed. And lastly, grow your own food whenever possible, especially when it comes to apples, cherry tomatoes, celery, collard greens, cucumbers, grapes, hot peppers, kale, nectarines, peaches, potatoes, spinach, summer squash, and sweet bell peppers. These are commonly known as the “dirty dozen” as they are thinner skinned and more sensitive to the highly toxic pesticides that are commonly used. All of these things can be grown in planter boxes that take up very little space and put you in control. Adding herbs to the mix helps protect the plants, naturally.

Eating real food and paying attention to where you get it are key points that are not addressed on this chart. Don’t you think that some of these deaths could be prevented from eating REAL food that is free from all the pesticides, hormones and chemicals? …I do! What stands out for me is the semi-vegetarian category and simply eating real food. ~ Life Dr.
