Organizations Close to my Heart

Goodsearch - A GREAT way to give to your favorite charity by simply searching and shopping online. GoodSearch is a search engine which donates 50 percent of its sponsored search revenue to the charities and schools designated by its users. You use GoodSearch exactly as you would any other search engine. Because it's powered by Yahoo!, you get proven search results. The money GoodSearch donates to your cause comes from its advertisers — the users and the organizations do not spend a dime! In 2007, GoodSearch was expanded to include GoodShop, an online shopping mall of world-class merchants dedicated to helping fund worthy causes across the country. Each purchase made via the GoodShop mall results in a donation to the user's designated charity or school– averaging approximately 3% of the sale, but going up to 20% or even more.

I AM WATERS Foundation - their mission is to hydrate the bodies of homeless women, children and men who don’t have access to life’s most basic necessities. Water is on the top of that list. I Am Waters  supplies bottled water through shelters, missions and community homeless organizations in an effort to eliminate the need for drinking what ever is available and suffering the effects of drinking water that is not fit for consumption.  Physical hydration that also delivers a simple inspirational message in a single word. In the life of a person who is homeless surviving comes before everything. Over time, life on the streets often erodes ones feelings of love, hope, and faith. Holding a bottle with an inspirational  word provides a powerful affirmation that is important for those who are not being replenished emotionally or spiritually.

The Heart Truth® - To make women more aware of the danger of heart disease, the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) and National Institutes of Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services partner organizations are sponsoring a national campaign called The Heart Truth. The campaign's goal is to give women a personal and urgent wakeup call about their risk of heart disease. The campaign is especially aimed at women ages 40 to 60, the age when a woman's risk of heart disease starts to rise. But its messages are also important for younger women, since heart disease develops gradually and can start at a young age-even in the teenage years. Older women have an interest too—it's never too late to take action to prevent and control the risk factors for heart disease. Even those who have heart disease can improve their heart health and quality of life.
