Life on the Mental Level

We have between 12,000 - 50,000 thoughts per day and the energy behind our thoughts has a profound effect on our bio-psycho-social reality. Conscious thoughts and deep rooted beliefs help create realities in the physical world. At Life Dr. we focus on what is and what's positive! Quantum physics - attempting to explain the unexplainable; the collective unconscious, neuro-science, neuro-chemistry and our neurological system. Let's celebrate our miraculous brain. 

Physical Life & the Body

An exploration of home: our amazing body and it's systems. How it works and what it needs. Inner & outer. Our physical environments. What we do in the world ...our actions vs. our intentions and aligning the two. A balance of what we want vs. what we need. Everything tangible. How 'dis-ease' impacts our body causing illness and discomfort. Spotlight on self-care and physically manifesting what we want inside and out!

Life on the Spiritual Level

When we explore the deeper connection between our internal and external environments, we become more conscious of our own power, our personal responsibility and how our lives are improved by acting with intention. Karma, conscious living, and the bond to spirit, the collective unconscious and a higher power. It's an energy and it's POSITIVE!

Life on the Emotional Level

There is a lot of confusion about the difference between our feelings (happy, sad, fearful, angry), and our emotions. Feelings are more universally felt in nature and circumstance, while our emotions are an expression of the personality and what we put out in the world. Emotions are the tension between our inside world and the outside world. They're our 'reactions' towards someone or something, and usually involve our ego.

Exploring our Emotional Life means tuning in to how we are feeling: inside ourselves, within our different environments, as well as with the people we choose to have in our lives. Our commitment to activities and behaviors that provide: a sense of accomplishment, creative outlet, or some sense of purpose or support, enhances our well-being and the well-being of others.

Relationships

The dynamics of a healthy relationship begin with you! When we feel comfortable with who we are, know our value and that we're worthy of love, we love and value others. Let's explore personal, family and professional relationships. What it means to 'trust'. Heart-centered, authentic communication.  Needs, boundaries and the importance of listening.  Sex vs. sensuality. Inner & outer relationships with ourselves, the global community, and to things, like money.

Natural Gourmet & Nutrition

Everything food! Recipes-for-life, meal planning and preparation, urban gardening, farm-to-table, life-enhancing seasonal foods. The science of healthy whole foods and their nutritional benefits, using food-as-medicine and a bit of history, the use of supplements, greens, natural, organic, wild, grass-fed, raw and more!

A healthy life is a life in balance and so much more than exercising, eating & sleeping well. Let's explore the connection between our internal and external environments and consciously create a life of passion & purpose. Monsanto is a large corporation that started out making pesticides and products for biological warfare, ...but, has since moved on to our food supply!  The company focus is wreaking havoc here in the United States - causing problems in our: soil, water supply, the food that is meant to sustain us, the human body and it's ability to get nourished.

Preventing And Reversing Diabetes 

In this article, Tom Corson-Knowles helps educate and share ways to prevent and reverse diabetes.  No matter what your family history is, ...it often comes down to what you are eating and making life-style changes that support you.

According to the World Diabetes Congress, over 33% of Americans will have full-blown diabetes by the year 2030. We're already seeing an epidemic of diabetes in children too. We're seeing type 2 diabetes in teenagers and even in 6 and 7 year olds!

When my parents were both in medical school 40 years ago, that was completely unheard of! Type 2 Diabetes used to be called "Adult Onset Diabetes" because it was ONLY seen in adults. Then doctors had to change the name of the disease to Type 2 Diabetes as more and more young children began to get the disease.

A Recipe for the Heart

Agapi radiates warmth and makes you feel special from the moment you meet her.  I love hearing about the ways her mother has touched her heart and what she has learned from her. She was very fortunate to have had such a wonderful role model.

My mother used to say, "You can't be unhappy and grateful at the same time." Over the years, I have found how right she was, in matters of the heart.

Often, we think of love as a big emotional experience and we put conditions on it. We think, if X, Y, and Z happen, I can experience love. We think of it as something outside ourselves that we suddenly arrive at one day. But actually that is not so.

A Healthy Delicious Meal in 10 minutes 

...or less!  When you are busy (like me), you want to eat healthy food without spending too much time in the kitchen.  Here is one of my favorite pasta dishes that is wheat and gluten-free.  It is so simple to make as well as being beautiful, aromatic and delicious! 

Recipes for Life: Life Dr. Pasta

  • 1 basket of organic cherry and yellow teardrop tomatoes
  • organic corn spaghetti
  • freshly picked basil
  • freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • quality olive oil (it should smell good and not rancid)
  • freshly chopped garlic
  • quality sea salt (Vital Mineral Blend - Celtic Sea Salt is my personal favorite for both taste and health benefits. It is Kosher, as well.)
  • organic chili flakes
