Not-So-Sweet Facts About Sugar!

This visual speaks for itself!  The thought of so much sugar made me think of a childhood memory from back in the day. Were you ever given that sandwich that consisted of butter smeared on two pieces of white bread with a thick layer of sugar in between?  Biting into that reminded me of the time I had picnicked on the beach and found myself eating a 'sand' sandwich. 

Chemically derived sugar substitutes are even worse than refined sugar! Did you know that your body does not know how to recognize or digest them, and that "diet" sodas actually cause you to gain weight rather than lose it in the long run?

I recommend using high-quality natural sweeteners instead.  Raw honey, maple syrup, coconut sugar, blackstrap molasses, and agave nectar are good choices.  Root vegetables (like sweet potatoes, carrots, turnips and beets) help satisfy natural cravings for something sweet as well.
